Canon 500D Close up Lens (77mm)
Long reach macro the economical way
Impressions
I love this lens. I purchased the 77mm version because many of my Nikon, and Canon lens are this size. When you see the
examples - you
should understand. A great thing about the 500D is that is doesn't effect metering, or reduce the light getting
to the sensor. The 500D Close
up lens is a double-element lens that threads onto the filter threads of a standard lens. It
permits that lens to then close focus at a much
closer distance. On a long prime lens like a 300mm f/4 it gives you a lot
more working distance from your subject verses a shorter focal length dedicated macro
lens.
